People who have type 2 diabetes have many things to worry about. There are the risks of getting nerve damage, blurred vision and many more. The constant worry over blood sugar levels can be a pain in the neck. and when despite taking all the precautions recommended to you by your doctor, still your glucose level increases, then it is understandable that you will feel frustrated and ask yourself why cannot I simply pump insulin in my body and get rid of the tension of an increased sugar level!
Unfortunately, the problems in real life can never be solved with such easy and quick solutions. you cannot fill yourself with insulin because it can be potentially dangerous. Insulin is not something that can be taken when the whim strikes. it needs to be as carefully regulated as your blood sugar level. too much of insulin can make you hypoglycaemic which is an injurious condition for your body.
Another drawback of taking extra insulin is that it cannot be stored in the body. So no matter how much insulin you inject in your system, your body will only absorb that which it requires for the time being. The rest is going to be wasted away. So until and unless humans develop some kind of storage area in their bodies, like camels, patients of diabetes will have to work at controlling their blood sugar levels with careful diet and exercise. Make sure that you consult a doctor on the dosage of insulin required by you because insulin requirements are different for different people and even vary for one person at different times.
The best way to balance your blood sugar levels is to take care of your diet and be as physically active as possible. Make sure that whatever you eat is low in GI so that there are no spikes in your sugar level after every meal. Be as active as possible because activity helps burn off the sugar that you consume. Do any exercise, but do it daily.
As long as you follow these simple steps regularly, you will not need to fill your veins with insulin. however, just in case, keep it nearby because life can throw a surprise your way. you might need insulin at some time and it is always better to be prepared than to be sorry!
